As a CSB student, you have certain course requirements which you will need to take at some point during your Lehigh academic career.
Here is an example schedule for a first-semester CSB student:
Course | Course Title | Credits |
---|---|---|
MATH 021 | Calculus I | 4 |
WRT 001 | Academic & Analytical Writing | 3 |
ECO 001 | Principles of Economics | 4 |
BUS 001 | Introduction to Business in a Global Environment | 1 |
BUS 003 | Business Communication I | 1.5 |
CSE 007 | Introduction to Programming | 4 |
TOTAL: | 17.5 |
CSB students may register for a maximum of 18 credits.
Your schedule will look similar to this, however, due to AP exams, SAT scores, and transfer credit, you may be eligible to register for other courses.
CSB Scheduling Guide
The extensive number of courses and variety of course meeting times may make scheduling seem overwhelming, but by following the tips below, you will be able to create a schedule that allows you to successfully begin your academic career at Lehigh!
- Review the sample schedules specific to your program in the CSB registration guide for an idea of the courses you should be registering for.
- Develop a few schedules with varying times! Although you may not get into your first class choice, we will make sure that you can register for all of the classes you need. Please keep in mind that CSB students register before other incoming students.
- Be sure to create a full-time (12 credit minimum) schedule with the primary classes you need. If necessary, you will be able to make changes to your schedule when you come to campus in the fall.
- You need to register for 6 courses: BUS 001, BUS 003, CSE 007, ENGL 001, MATH 021, ECO 001(unless you are beginning with AP credits, transfer credits etc). Although these are 6 separate courses, several of them are only 1, 1.5 credit hours. The credit-hour total is 17.5.
AP students:
- If you have AP Calculus BC credit for both MATH 021 and MATH 022, you should take MATH 205, which requires a class-year override. Andrea Goff (ahg212@lehigh.edu) can request that for you if you identify which sections of MATH 205 fit your schedule.
- If your scores are not yet in, you have to register as if you did not take those AP exams. Once scores come in, you can change your registration.
- If you have AP Computer Science A (Java) take CSE 017
- If you have AP Computer Science Principles, take CSE 007
We recommend that you register for courses in the following order to help ease the schedule building process: (Note: This is a guide to help you plan, but it is not required that you register in this order.)
- Select a section of CSE 007 lecture and a linked lab section.
- Select a section of BUS 001 lecture and a linked recitation section.
- Select a section of BUS 003.
- Select a section of ECO 001 lecture and a linked recitation section.
- Select a section of MATH 021 and a linked recitation section (or an upper-level calculus course if AP credit was received). If you have been recommended for MATH 075 instead, register for that.
- Select your section of WRT 001. There are multiple sections of this course available at varying times, so it will be easiest to fit this course into your plan once you’ve secured your other courses
