Accelerated 4+1 Program

Dear Incoming Lehigh Students,

Welcome to Lehigh and the M.S. in Applied Economics Accelerated 4+1 program!  This 4+1 program complements your primary program of study and allows you to enter and complete the graduate-level M.S. in Applied Economics program (MSAE) seamlessly.  The MSAE 4+1 program is built to maximize your undergraduate time, develop relationships with faculty and upper-class students, provide graduate-level tuition savings, and connect you with our extensive Alumni MSAE network for potential internships and projects experience.

Registration for MSAE 4+1

Required courses for the MSAE 4+1 are:

  • Principles of Economics
  • Intermediate Microeconomics
  • Intermediate Macroeconomics
  • Statistics I
  • Calculus I
  • One of the following: Calculus II,  Statistics II, Econometrics

Undergraduate students with room in their schedules and meeting minimum GPA requirements may have the opportunity to take and reserve graduate-level (400-level) courses during their undergraduate study. A maximum of 12 graduate-level credits can be reserved toward the 30 credits required for the MS In Applied Economics degree. The University’s catalog page details how undergraduates may petition to enroll in 400-level courses. These courses are then to be reserved by submitting a petition for the graduate degree. Graduate-level courses may NOT be used to fulfill ANY undergraduate requirement.

The MSAE 4+1 team is ready to provide you with the guidance you need for success in the economics world. Connect with us!

Sincerely,

Your MSAE 4+1 Team

Professor Alex Nikolsko Rzhevskyy, Economics, MSAE Director
